BeaverTracer
BeaverTracer is a browser-based learning tool that shows step by step how computer networks work. It is aimed at students and anyone who wants to understand networks from the ground up. Inspired by the learning software Filius, the focus here was placed on ease of use (no account required, no installation) and a low barrier to entry. It also implements protocols that you would otherwise only find in commercial learning tools. BeaverTracer is currently in late alpha: the core features are in place, but there are still rough edges and bugs — particularly in complex simulations. The accompanying didactic materials are also still under development.
Fahrplanatlas
Fahrplanatlas presents timetables as a timetable book and as time–distance diagrams, shows the corresponding lines on a map, and offers a time-lapse simulation of all vehicles based on the scheduled timetable. It is a private project, not an official journey planner: real-time data such as delays, cancellations or diversions is not taken into account. The application is available in German only.
