Altenbach Af Signal Box
A browser simulation of a German electromechanical signal box of type E43.
In the fictional station of Altenbach you play the dispatcher: throw points, set and lock routes with route signal levers, operate the line block and offer, accept and report trains by telephone — using the official German train reporting procedure (Ril 408).
Note: the simulator itself is only available in German.
Features
- Track layout with four platform tracks, a siding group, a loading track with derailers, double-track lines to Westerhain and Osterfeld and a single-track line to Kirchdorf
- Lever frame with point, derailer and route signal levers including the locking register
- Block shelf with line block, signal indicators, substitute signal buttons, counter and emergency route release
- Timetable with through trains, overtakings, a reversing regional train and a pick-up goods train serving the loading track
- Telephone with bells and ring codes, plus a line to the shunter
- Point failures with emergency procedures (hand crank, signal fitter, substitute signal)
- Attract mode: the signal box operates itself at 1×, 2×, 8× or 32× speed
Best on a PC, laptop or large tablet with at least 1920 × 1080 pixels. A manual is included as a drawer at the bottom of the simulator.
Just a hobby project. Built as an experiment to see whether a railway enthusiast could create a working E43 simulation with the help of an AI in a single day. For entertainment only — it is no substitute for training and must not be used for teaching or training in real railway operations.
